Specializing in custom yachts, Hightower Boatworks incorporates the design process into the build in order to provide the customer with their exact needs.
The design process is broken down as follows:

  1. Preliminary Design: provides the customer with the project's concept and direction.
  2. The Design Spiral:  Hightower designs the yacht in accordance with the customers’ wants.  The process considers all variables.  The result is the ideal hull shape, powertrain and layout for the application.
  3. Final Design:  Once the owner approves, Hightower proceeds with computer modeling all the aspects in 3-D.

Once the design is complete and the owner is happy, construction commences.  In order to ensure accuracy and efficient build time, Hightower uses a Computer Aided Router to construct the major components of the boat.  The detailed design is turned into a full size boat via the CNC router. During the build, Hightower Boatworks uses only the highest quality materials.  In order to stay innovative, various types of materials are used.  The hulls are cold molded with a wood core encapsulated in fiberglass.  This method of construction is proven and guarantees one of the best strength to weight ratios.

When constructing the superstructure, a combination of wood, foamcore and composites are used.  This saves weight and gives more freedom of curvature. Once the overall construction is completed, attention is paid to the detail of finishing and painting.  Great pride is taken in our finished product.
